If you still mourn for “good old arcade days” when fighting games were much more simpler but yet more fun, here is something that will cheer you up. According to multiple sources including Gematsu, The King of Fighters XIV Arcade Version will be released soon.On second annual Toushinsai fighting game tournament in Japan, SNK announced that The King of Fighters XIV Arcade Version should be out the next year. Also, Capcom didn’t fall behind and Street Fighter V arcade version was announced. Announcement on Toushinsai had sense, since that tournament is an arcade-only event. Currently in tournaments roster are Ultra Street Fighter IV and King of Fighters 13, so the next year can expect that the new installments will kick in. Below you can read the full transcript from Japanese site 4gamer:

“The King of Fighters XIV is coming to arcades in Japan via Taito’s NESiCAxLive 2 system, an arcade content distribution system that supports battles between arcades, SNK Playmore announced at Toushinsai 2016.

In addition to SNK Playmore, NESiCAxLive 2 will be supported by Arc System Works, Examu, FK Digital, G.rev, Square Enix, and French-Bread.

Further details will be announced at Japan Amusement Expo 2017 in February.”
