The Insomnia Gaming Festival was held in Birmingham, England this past weekend, it was a celebration of the 60th “Lanniversary” and it certainly lived up to the amount of hype and excitement it was supposed to be affiliated with, especially with a playable build of Injustice 2 and Tekken 7 making appearances at the event, two games that people have been itching to get their hands on, one in the west, and the other just in general. While there were exhibition matches scheduled between U.K.’s top NRS talents, the spotlight was stolen by the “multiverse mode” a single player mode that is supposed to be akin to Mortal Kombat’s living towers.

The Multiverse is smaller than I remember…

The planets named here are “The Rage,” “Blown Away,” “Overthrown,” “The Grave,” “Bad Odds” and the “Fifth Dimension,” and all have their own objectives for players to complete, the objectives numbering between one and three and, much like Mortal Kombat’s living towers, will expire in a set amount of time. There are also squares lit up on each planet, which seems to indicate how many levels or stages there are for players to fight through on any given one. This will give players a little more to contend with on the single player front, something that is important to quite a few fighting gamers.

NRS internet personality and content creator “Super” has created videos to further explain what we know about the multiverse mode thus far, so you can just as easily hear what I’ve written, but in Supers dulcet tones instead of the cold black text I’m using here, though I guess if you’d made it this far you’re probably pretty resigned to this text anyway. Still, I’ll go the extra mile for you and include the videos anyway.
